Well as far as I can tell, it's not claiming any benefits nor trying to pinch any low skilled work out there!
It's quite cute actually and fairly friendly mind I have read it can take up to a month to recover if its wing is broken, I hope it does not out stay its welcome because I know who will end up looking after it.

Got a bloody pigeon in the dining room in a big box, the missis found it in the garden with a dodgy wing so it's being kept warm, watered and fed until it can fly again.
Oh and my garage has been requisitioned as an exercise area for it!

I had another one SLAM into a window today. No sign of dead, damaged, stunned or even mildly embarrassed bird .... but a large pigeon Turin Shroud on the glass. Interestingly upside down. I'm guessing it realised ... too late ... and tried to pull out.

Maybe it limped to Hoboland where it knew it'd be looked after.

Bird feathers have a waterproof oil on them. I imagine that's actually what's sticking to the glass after they hit it - which leaves the mark.'

Barny (named after the storm during which he appeared) is doing ok today, don't think his wing is broken, he attempted to fly in the garage, got to about 2 foot in the air for a couple of seconds then landed.

Not actually seen a house lit up yet, but one (thankfully not too near us, and first up-last down every year) is ready. You can see every wall already plasterted with Christmas paraphernelia, light being hung outside and a huge bracket hanging from a bedroom window. What that might be for is beyond imagination. Mind you, the town lights went on last night, so the council is leading by example on how to boost your electric bill to wish EON a very merry Christmas.

It turns out I have shingles - which i thought was summat old people got..

anyway - I asked the doctor if maybe i should avoid going near pregant women as I had heard that they could catch chicken pox from shingles - and chicken pox is bad for pregaladies. She said - yes - in theory - but only if they licked your shingles... i said that that sounded fairly unlikely - but not totally impossible.

I guess i'd better lock myself indoors for two weeks - I wouldn't want to risk anyone's health!

That's like hens teeth apparently. Neither time was it anywhere near as bad as I understand it can be. I remember when I was in my first job some fella was off work with it for a couple of months. Though it wasn't very comfortable I worked through it. I was a sole trader mind.
