Aye, they fell out with the council, when they supposedly threatened to spread some shit after getting planning permission initially turned down for the office developments

Re: The Debt.
I'm desperately sorry for the club staff if they don't get paid but I cant see me shedding any tears if the whole first team weren't paid and exercised their right and left next month. I'm not sure who'd play for us but it's better than paying a good half a dozen useless lumps for 6 more months who'll be out of contract in Summer anyway.

Heard the same. Must be worth well in excess of what we need presently (wages, running costs). Although Lostock could accomodate training sessions surely?plymouth wanderer wrote:Preston looking at buying the training ground? probably bullshit! mind its not like we need it

Re: The Debt.
This is it! I'd sell both as I don't think the players get anything from the training ground! a shared copy of Fifa 16 would suffice, certainly alot cheaper.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Heard the same. Euxton, I'd have thought, will be prime housing/building land. I imagine it'd bring in a lot more per hectare if sold to Wainhomes rather than to another football club.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Heard the same. Re: The Debt.
I don't think there's planning permission on it for housing. It's been a sports ground for ages, well before the war and was farming land before that. I've been doing a bit of tinternet searching on it and discovered an ancient article on LOVS from a few years back that valued its sale to Preston at £75million!!!! - that'd keep us in the sort of debt we're accustomed to for years.Bruce Rioja wrote:Euxton, I'd have thought, will be prime housing/building land. as I've aid before - despite BWFC_I's reluctance to trust him - glad to have Birch on board - he knows what he's doing - certainly glad to have in on our side pissing out!!
Re: The Debt.
Preston's owner is mega rich property investor, Trevor Hemmings. Lives on the Isle of Man like Eddie who may now be the poorest Championship club owner as a result of the money he's pumped into BWFC

Indeed, I've played there a few times when it was owned by Royal Ordanance. I'm just thinking that there's been that much house building going on up there with that Buckshaw Village and whatnot we might get planning permission for a few dwellings.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:I don't think there's planning permission on it for housing. Fxckin'ell, we don't need Trevor Birch, what we need is an accident, a two-for-one deal. I can see the headlines in the BN next week:Bruce Rioja wrote:Indeed, I've played there a few times when it was owned by Royal Ordanance. Tragedy Strikes At Trotters Training Ground - a forgotten cache of unexploded ordnance blew up this Wednesday just as the first team squad were warming up. the tragic loss of 'Goal Machine' Madine, Dobbin, and Heskey are being mourned by the fans. BWFC announced a week of mourning and black arm bands will be in evidence at the Fulham match. a spokesman for Trevor Birch said "coincidentally and fortunately we took out massive life insurance on all our players just last week".

Iles and Nixon in agreement that if players aren't paid it is disastrous. Presumably because the value of your assets drops very low if you playing assets are no longer contracted to you.Harry Genshaw wrote:I'm desperately sorry for the club staff if they don't get paid but I cant see me shedding any tears if the whole first team weren't paid and exercised their right and left next month. You can't pay some and not others, so ALL players, young, first team etc would be within their rights to leave with 2 weeks notice. Would you really want that situation to inherit if you were a new owner?
What if it got to the point we couldn't fulfill fixtures? Expulsion from the football league probably.
As much as I share the sentiment, practically we HAVE to pay the players if we want any chance of the club resurrecting itself.

If most of the first team up and fvcked off( sounds good) we'd be fine surely? as paying the u21s would be a doddle as there on peanuts compared to the so called professionals?

Re: The Debt.
I'm not sure you can selectively pay staff. So it is an all or nothing situation. If they aren't paid end of this month they can give two weeks and walk out for free.plymouth wanderer wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Iles and Nixon in agreement that if players aren't paid it is disastrous. Also as much as we know the issues we have with this group of players would you want to be trying to sell a business and have a major set of assets leave for nothing before said sale? Even if player values are low, they are still significant.

Re: The Debt.
^^ Well, contractually, you should pay your staff, as per contract. So there won't be any "rules" about who you pay and who you don't.
However, you certainly COULD get away with paying some & not others. At least that way you'd not be in breach of contract to some of them.
Just ensure the ones you don't pay don't make up a group who could claim discrimination. We have no age (despite Emile), sex or disability people on the playing staff (avoiding any cheap jokes) .... but selecting a group of black or white; Muslim or Christians etc. not to pay wouldn't be wise.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
