As Nixon says, we brought in these experts to sell things including the whole club and they can't close any deals.
I have no faith in these 'experts'. 2 months on since Birch arrived and seemingly nothing has improved at all.

I imagine they could close a deal if they accept a shit deal.
This is a bit like transfer windows under Allardyce.

It's ok though it's only regular staff not being paid whilst Eddie counts his money and pays his experts.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:As is proven by the fact we went into administration all those 48 hourses ago...BWFC_Insane wrote:As Nixon says, we brought in these experts to sell things including the whole club and they can't close any deals.

To be unable to pay staff at this stage is a shambles.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's a terrible shame for those who aren't getting paid. And I would like the deal to be concluded quickly. As I'm sure would Birch, Davies and all the staff.
Funny how little opprobrium there is for the consortia who still haven't got their shit together.

As debated ad nauseum, the position on not closing the various asset sales is perfectly understandable - all to do with our experts getting market valuations and setting up options and contingencies. I'm assuming that they are trying to keep everything together as a package. We and Nixon have no idea whether a) when the overall sale is likely to be resolved; b) what position the various interested parties have taken on those different assets.BWFC_Insane wrote:It's ok though it's only regular staff not being paid whilst Eddie counts his money and pays his experts.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:As is proven by the fact we went into administration all those 48 hourses ago...BWFC_Insane wrote:As Nixon says, we brought in these experts to sell things including the whole club and they can't close any deals.

Admit I dont get the staff pay bit, other than EDs presumably trying to draw a line with bidders, which is small comfort for the staff.

quite - albeit quite a few on here have questioned the sanity of anyone taking us on, so might justify their reticence.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Oh don't get me wrong, it's a terrible shame for those who aren't getting paid. FWIW I still like to think that we are a reasonably attractive position in the comparative madness of football investment, albeit the fire sale approach hasnt helped and the time its taking suggesting I'm deluded

Get a grip! Any old tosser can close a deal - it takes more nerve to hold out for the right/best deal. Judge them when the job is done - not before...BWFC_Insane wrote:As Nixon says, we brought in these experts to sell things including the whole club and they can't close any deals.

I, afraid I don't believe Eddie or his advisors he is paying are necessarily acting in the best interests of the club.thebish wrote:Get a grip! If Eddie truly cared he could at the very least pay the non playing staff until things were sorted.

My point is missed. Why do people assume Eddie has the best interests of the club in all of this?Lost Leopard Spot wrote:This.thebish wrote:If YOU really cared, YOU could pay them.BWFC_Insane wrote:I, afraid I don't believe Eddie or his advisors he is paying are necessarily acting in the best interests of the club.thebish wrote:Get a grip! He ain't obligated.
He is paying Birch and Robinson et al, to act on his behalf. Not on the fans behalf of the clubs.
Of course he isn't obligated to pay the staff wages for the business he owns.
But why is mistrusting his actions in this process unfair? I don't see any reason to trust him. Not one. And I have a few reasons that I don't. They will remain private though.

Re: The breaking News thread...
My point in all of this, is that it doesn't matter a shiny shit about what any of us bystanders feel about it. What will happen will happen. Some think it'll be reet, others less convinced. But how it occurred and why, they are concerns that are neither here nor there.

Re: The breaking News thread...
Let's face down the hysteria. If the car park sale happens Friday, wages will be paid Monday. If the car park sale doesn't happen then HMRC will be correct, the club is insolvent and they won't have any jobs. This is the sort of uncertainty that happens in a crisis. We are in a crisis. But we're not feeding the workers into a vast mincer and selling them off as pies, they just need to wait some days before being paid...

Things I have heard are now being hinted at by Iles. He was asked if a deal to buy the club close, his response....
@MarcIles: @taff86 close, yes. But whether ED wants to do business, God only knows.

I am happy that my support for BWFC is not based on numbers but love else I would have ditched the club a long time ago for one in the Premiere league. I hope the current members of the board and owners will show some love to the people they depend on to keep the club going, and who play no role in the stupid decisions that are made at that level that have brought about this mess.

Re: The breaking News thread...
Whoa tiger, I didn't say it was right. I merely pointed out that what has been reported is a hitch in payments. We don't have to roll in the love patch and profess anything. I know it's a pain to be paid late. It's a fxcking damn well bigger pain to lose a job. But none of those impacts on the fandom element of why we support the club we do. And no, I'm not an accountant, cheeky fxcker.irie Cee Bee wrote:Spoken like a true accountant.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Let's face down the hysteria. Let me ask this: If the owner is not obligated to pay his staff, who is?

Unless he is in very dire financial straits, if there was a genuine and imminent failure to pay ED will stump it up.
Not through soft-hearted, soft-headed emotion but because whatever value he has still in the enterprise will diminish by far more than that tax bill.
As I have said repeatedly.
In other words ... "it'll be reet".

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
